Global Education Exchange Opportunities, Inc. (GEEO) joined the celebration of the Institute of Culture of Manatí and citizens of the town commemorated the flag of Puerto Rico and its creator Don Antonio Vélez Alvarado, a native of Manatí. The activity began at ten o'clock in the morning leaving from Atenas College and ended at the José S. Alegría Cultural Centre in Manatí.

Led by a rider carrying the starry monkey, GEEO represented by its CEO, Dr. Odette Piñeiro, joined entrepreneurs, educators, students carrying the Puerto Rican flag through the streets of the town. It was a great joy for all, especially as it was the first community activity after more than 13 months of confinement as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the same time, the flag was escorted by riders on Paso Fino horses adorning the route and connecting us with our rich history. The ginetas on their hats had maga flowers and the ages of the participants ranged from the very young to those in their eighties. It filled us all with hope and united us as Puerto Rico.

The entire management and administrative staff of Global Education Exchange Opportunities, Inc. (GEEO), came out carrying the flag to share their joy of being Puerto Rican, as did our 1950 McKinley Street teens!

We are making Puerto Rico a homeland every day, transforming it one school at a time...
